Louis & Marguerite van Rensburg - 1 October 2011

I’m a very fortunate photographer, I don’t get ugly brides, all my brides are beautiful, but this one was something else (you’ll see)..

On October 1st, 2011, I documented Louis and Marguerite van Rensburg’s beginning of their new life together.

The reception was held at Excelsior, Vleesbaai,  Pam Fivas’, beautiful place, with loads of character! Inside there was detail all over and you could see Marguerite’s hand in every table, flower and just about everything! It was a fairytale waiting to happen!!

Like every couple, these two also went photo scouting and found amazing places for me to take their photos. It was a bumpy ride, literally, but a lot of fun and mosquitoes in our faces! The videographer, Charmaine Ellman and I, first sat on the back of the bakkie and then start bouncing all over the place, (both pregnant) so we decided to stand up and take on the “plaas pad” towards our destination. Then the  mosquitoes and a swarm of “muggies” attacked us one after the other, I still had a few in my hair the next day! We were laughing from start to finish and I got great shots, here are a few photos of this adventurous couple..!

getting started...

This is my first time in the "blogging industry" so I'm still a little bit stupid with the ins and outs of it, but in time hopefully, I will get the hang of it!! Advice will be much appreciated!!

Where to start! My name, Madri van Rensburg! I live in Riversdale in the Western-Cape, grew up here, went to school here and got my license here! Studied at Stellenbosch (love that place) for two years and thought I would hit the corporate world, get a fancy job in Cape Town, make loads of money and be the most famous photographer out there! Then, sadly, reality knocks me on the head and I realised that, 1. finding a job, ain't easy, 2. if you want to make it in this world you need to know people, or 3. do what I did and start at the bottom! So I came back to Riversdale and started freelancing, I took photo's literally from a bag of sugar to some well known people, places and a very expensive race horse!

I still do any job I can get, but these day's its mostly wedding, kids and family portraits (outdoor).
I got married  in April 2010 and our first baby is on the way! She will be arriving  in March, so for some photographer out there I will always have one wedding to give away in March!

Here are some of my work that I did in the last few years, hope you enjoy it and follow my work, my life, and the blog..
